The Tennessee Credit Union Web Design Case Study

The Tennessee Credit Union was founded in 1950 by a small group of dedicated volunteers guided by their commitment to provide members with the tools and knowledge necessary for personal financial growth and a sound financial future. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative they are owned and governed by their members. It is this distinction that makes it possible for them to return profits back to their members in the form of low financing rates, high savings rates, fewer fees, improved technology, and high quality products and services.

Redesigning a trusted credit union website can be a delicate task. Refreshing the look and functionality while keeping a familiar vibe was important for this project. Fortunately, the new site would be the third one designed by In10sity for TTCU since 2006. Due to our extensive client relationship, our design team knew just how to approach a refreshed, mobile responsive design for this client. Like any website for a financial institution, the old site grew to a point where the architecture had to be re-envisioned to make it easier to use. With an emphasis on usability, the new site needed to do a better job of directing members and prospective members to the services and resources they sought. While making the public side of the site easy to use was paramount, making back-end administration easy was just as important. With technology changing constantly, new and improved ways to manage and keep the site updated with fresh content had to be developed.

Starting with a project kick-off meeting, in10sity and the The Tennessee Credit Union website team discussed the challenges and goals for the revamped website to ensure project success. Starting with updated, mobile responsive design concepts and site map reconfiguration, we worked as a team to fine tune an intuitive and comfortable user experience. Like so many of our finance clients, TTCU had a lot of information to share and understood the importance of making the content easy to find for their members. The custom menu was a great choice! Solving the problem of the never-ending drop down navigation, this menu spreads the width of the page and allows for a nice display of several levels of content.

Bringing the design to life, inPower CMS™ was installed on the site to give administrative users the ability to update page content, home page banner graphics, news articles, service/resource spotlight graphics and much more within a few clicks of the mouse! With so many ways to add fresh content, TTCU can feel confident that they are able to span a consistent marketing message from on-site efforts to print to web with ease.
